There’s a snake in my boot!
There’s having a good rotation, and there’s 15 earned runs in 15 games. 6 in the last 8! The starters are on an unbelieveable heater right now, lasting through three full turns of the rotation. And that’s being down a guy. Dating back to April 10th, the bullpen has a 1.48 ERA, and that’s worse than the rotation. Logan Gilbert could be great today and somehow still be disappointing, but he’ll do his best to take this momentum into the rotation’s fourth turn.

Blackthorne: You tell him that the animals in the Commissioner’s Office continue to allow teams to sit a player on his giveaway day. Little Leaguers—children for God’s sake!—will get a poster of Cal Raleigh today, but when they look behind the plate, they’ll see Seby Zavala. Seby Zavala! It’s outrageous! Yes, yes, you have to plan the giveaways in advance and players get injured, pitchers can’t go every day. But this just isn’t right.
