Things are a little bumpy among Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s six kids amid the stars’ highly publicized divorce. Insiders reveal that the Jolie-Pitt children are fighting over one subject that could make for some awkward family dinners.
Apparently, Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh,17, and 15-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, don’t see eye-to-eye about their famous dad. An insider recently told Life & Style, “The siblings do get into arguments about their parents.” They continued, “While Maddox, Pax, Zahara and Vivienne are all adamantly on Team Angie, Shiloh and Knox continue to talk to their dad. The other kids don’t understand their connection to Brad. They try to persuade them to switch sides, and it causes a lot of tension.”
Yikes! Having your kids fight over you is the last thing any divorcing couple wants, but it seems like it can’t be avoided right now, if this source is to be believed. Especially since the divorce and custody battle has been going on since 2016! Not to mention Pitt’s alleged history of abuse — which Jolie’s lawyers claimed has gone on a lot longer. “While Pitt’s history of physical abuse of Jolie started well before the family’s September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles, this flight marked the first time he turned his physical abuse on the children as well,” they wrote in court papers previously obtained by PEOPLE. “Jolie then immediately left him.”
While many of the kids seems to have severed their relationship with Pitt since then, with Zahara even dropping “Pitt” from her last name, Knox and Shiloh are still in regular communication with him. “They see him often and they text,” the source told Life & Style, which fits with The Sun’s photos of two kids visiting their dad last month. “Shiloh and Knox always had a special bond with him. Viv did, too, for a while, but in the past few years, she’s distanced herself — working with Angelina on the play [The Outsiders] was a huge part of that.”
The source also claimed that Jolie is trying to maintain peace with her children. “She treads carefully because the last thing she wants is for them to alienate her,” they said, adding that Knox is “a mini Brad.” “Brad is happy that they’re standing on their own two feet,” the source dished. “He’s drained from fighting but refuses to give up on the rest of the family, either.”
Hopefully this tension between siblings can be resolved quickly. No kids should have to choose sides between their parents, and our hearts go out to them!
