April might be coming to a close, but its famous showers aren’t.

Parts of the country are already experiencing flooding thanks to downpours that started yesterday and carried on overnight, with some road closures and public transport affected.

The Environment Agency currently has five flood warnings in place – where flooding is expected.

These, shown on our map, are for Parsons Drove in St Ives, Cornwall; Water Eaton Brook in Water Eaton, Oxfordshire; River Wreake at both Frisby-on-the-Wreake and Hoby, Trussington and Ratcliffe and several towns along the Isle of Wight’s Eastern War.

Flood officials have also issued 91 flood alerts, where flooding is possible. These can be seen on the Environment Agency’s website.

For tomorrow, the Met Office has forecast a band of showery rain in the west of the country that is set to move northeast through the day.

It will be driest in the east, especially in the southeast, where sunny spells are expected.

From Tuesday to Thursday, the weather is set to be changeable, with a mix of showers and longer spells of rain and sun.

Some showers will be heavy and thundery, the Met Office forecasts, with the biggest chance of thunderstorms in the southeast.

Northwestern parts of the UK should see the driest and sunniest weather.

The second part of the week is set to gradually become drier and more settled, with ‘changeable conditions most likely to hang on longest in the south and southeast,’ says the Met Office.

If you’re longing for warmer days, you’ll be pleased to hear the temperature is set to steadily rise over the coming days, potentially reaching a rather balmy 22°C in London on Saturday.

Tomorrow it’s forecast to hover around 12-13°C for much of the country, then rise to around 16-18 over the following days.
