‘Postecoglou will go on the attack’ – Chris Sutton predicts North London derby score
Chris Sutton expects Tottenham Hotspur to take the game to Arsenal in the North London derby but the pundit backed the visitors to edge out the home side on Sunday.
One could argue that Sunday’s clash is the biggest of Spurs’ season so far for a number of reasons.
Firstly, Tottenham fans will be desperate to see their side sabotage their rivals’ bid for the Premier League title. Secondly, Spurs also need the three points to stay within touching distance of Aston Villa in the race for fourth.
Finally, the Lilywhites will also be desperate to prove a point after their embarrassing 4-0 loss to Newcastle two weeks ago, with their performance at St James’ Park arguably being the poorest of the season.
Son Heung-min confessed a couple of days ago that he and his teammates are extremely motivated to bounce back after an ‘unacceptable’ display in their previous game (Football.London).

However, Sutton believes that Mikel Arteta’s men simply have too much quality for Tottenham.
The pundit told BBC Sport: “Anything could happen. Are we going to see the Spurs side who demolished Aston Villa 4-0 in March – or the one that collapsed against Newcastle, or just did not turn up against Fulham? I don’t know, but I do know Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou will go on the attack.”
“Arsenal bounced back superbly from their defeat by Aston Villa with wins over Wolves and Chelsea and I am expecting more of the same here.
They should win this because of the way they are playing and also because I just don’t think Tottenham have been at their best in their past few games, even the ones they have won.
“It will still be really keenly contested, but the Gunners have a great balance in attack and defence and that might give them the edge. If Arsenal do come out on top, it would be an enormous win for them in the title race and keep the heat on Manchester City.
“I have no doubt Mikel Arteta’s side will win their final three games too – Bournemouth (home), Manchester United (away) and Everton (home) – but it will not be enough if City keep winning too. Prediction: 1-2.”

If Arsenal do win this game, Sutton is right in saying that it is difficult to see them lose another match this season, given the momentum the win would give them. So the result of Sunday’s game could well dictate where the Premier League title ends up this season.
