Manchester United have been linked with a move for the Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong at the end of the season.
A report from Give Me Sport claims that Manchester United will only make a move to sign the Dutch defender if Aaron Wan-Bissaka leaves the club at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old Dutchman has been in impressive form for the German outfit this season, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists in all competitions.
He could prove to be the ideal acquisition for Manchester United and he will contribute at both ends of the pitch. Wan-Bissaka has often been criticised for his lack of productivity going forward. The Red Devils need to bring in a more balanced full back and Frimpong would be the ideal acquisition.
It remains to be seen whether Manchester United can offload the former Crystal Palace defender at the end of the season. Wan-Bissaka remains a reliable defender and there should be no shortage of suitors if the 26-year-old is made a available.
Meanwhile, Frimpong has a £34 million release clause in his contract and he could prove to be a bargain at that price. The 23-year-old is likely to improve with coaching and experience and he could develop into a top class player in the coming seasons.
He could easily justify the investment in the near future, and the move would look like a bargain.
The opportunity to join a big club like Manchester United will be quite attractive for the player. He has already proven himself in the Bundesliga and he has helped his side win the league this season.
The defender could be open to a new challenge at this stage of his career and a move to the Premier League would be ideal for him.
