TOWIE star James Lock was slammed by fans after he apologised to Yazmin Oukhellou on Celeb Ex on The Beach.
The former couple, who split in 2021, were reunited on the hit dating show.
The last few years have been an incredibly tough time for Yaz after she survived a car accident that killed her boyfriend in 2022.
As the pair sat down for a date on the beach, James tried to make amends for not being there for her after the crash.
But Yazmin said that her traumatic experience gave her a new perspective on life, and told James that she didn’t want him in her life.
But fans were furious with him for leaving it years before reaching out.
“He’s had a year and a half to contact her when she nearly died in that crash but decides to leave it until he can do it on a reality show?” one wrote.
“Good lass that’s his karma x, ” a second wrote.
“Sometimes the apology is too late and once you’ve moved on there’s no need to have those people in your life,” agreed a third.
“Go yaz .. never ever go back you need so much more from a man .. you will find your true love who will give u everything including respect .. good luck lovely x” said another.
However, some fans applauded James for how he took Yazmin’s decision to cut him from her life.
“He handled things so well there. They’ve both grown,” one wrote.
“This shows great growth potential for them both x” agreed another.
Sitting down at a beachside table together, Yaz said: “Do you know what? I think me going through what I have in the past year has really made me realise that I don’t need to give people in my life second chances anymore who don’t deserve it.
“Because life’s so short,” she explained.
“I know you’ve been through a lot. And that’s why I’m here to apologise, whether you accept it or not,” James replied calmly.
“I hope you can, I don’t expect you to forget but if you can forgive me that’s all this is about,” he added.
“I’m sorry that I wasn’t there for you as a friend because you always have been there for me,” he told Yaz, who was clearly finding the conversation tough.
“With you, it’s not a two-way relationship whether it was when we were together or even friendship,” she hit back.
“You take me back to a place where I was very unhappy and I don’t feel good when I’m around you.
“I feel horrible in myself and I don’t need to do it anymore, James.”
“I’ve got too many good people in my life that genuinely care about me and love me for me and when I’m around them I feel good.
“And when I’m with you, I don’t feel good. And do you know what? I’m not doing it anymore with you,” she said.
“And as sad as that is, I can’t have you in my life no more,” she said getting up to leave.
Jake McLean, 33, was behind the wheel of the Mercedes E-Class when it left the road and plunged down a ravine in Turkey.
Yazmin was badly hurt in the smash, but managed to crawl from the wreckage.
Lauren Goodger, who dated Jake for four years, attended his funeral last August.
But Yamzin was banned by his family over allegations a row between the pair had played a part in the crash.
This comes after the pair were recently spotted on a night out together, sparking rumours that they’d rekindled their relationship.
Yazmin, 29, shared snippets of her evening with her ex, James, 37, on her Instagram story.
James re-posted the video on his page along with the eyes emoji, which could’ve been used to draw attention to the fact that they were together.
Back in 2018, James and Yazmin quit TOWIE to save their relationship.
At the time, a show spokesperson said: “It was mutually decided that James and Yazmin would not film the final two episodes of this series [in 2018], allowing them time to work on their relationship.”
Yazmin made the decision to take a break during filming earlier that season due to her ongoing battle with depression.
They broke up in 2019 when Yazmin accused James of partying with other girls in a hotel room but then patched things up to give their love another shot.
Yet the pair eventually split in 2021 after having a row while in Dubai for a work trip.
