I’m a celeb hypnotherapist and I help movie stars with bad ‘track records’ stop falling in love with their co-stars

GETTING into the minds of movie stars is all in a day’s work for celebrity hypnotherapist Kim Friedmutter.

With clients including Sharon Stone, Martha Stewart, David Hasselhoff, and Jackie Segal, Friedmutter has helped to halt some potentially bad on and off-screen romances.

The author and TV personality has also worked with countless world leaders, sports stars, tech titans, and billionaires.

To help ensure that blockbuster films don’t get derailed by personal dalliances, she has become part of a movie’s budget — to the tune of $50,000 for five sessions that are five hours each.

STICK TO THE SCRIPT

For Friedmutter, getting actors to stick to the script is more about patterns than magic potions.

“There were a couple of actors who were in a film together and they had a bad track record of falling in love with their co-stars, so I helped them break this undesirable behavior,” Friedmutter told The U.S. Sun.

“That was a big unwanted pattern, so we needed to interrupt that pattern and do a breaking-of-a-love model so that that wouldn’t happen,” she said.

“That worked out beautifully. They’re each with their respective partners. So that was good.”

Friedmutter, who has also worked with Jennifer Hudson, says that hypnotizing famous people gives her an advantage.

“One of the most important things is knowing someone’s behavior, and when you’re well-known and in the public eye, you already know their patterns as well,” she said.

Another reason she attracts high-profile clients is because hypnosis gets to the root of the problem — and fast.

She describes it as the most efficient way to go “straight to the center.”

“You’re getting right to the base of whatever that issue is. So for example, one of my favorite sayings is ‘”‘practice makes permanent,'” she said.

“So if you’re habitually repeating something, we know that you’re just going to keep doing that thing,” she added.

HABITS OF THE HEART

Falling in and out of love isn’t just for the rich and famous.

Rather, it’s all about habitual patterns on the heartstrings.

“Love is brain chemistry and relationships are brain chemistry. So there are certain things that you can set up,” she added.

Just be warned — the first thing she’ll request is that you hand over is your phone.

That’s because having a certain ringtone associated with someone sets off a chemical reaction in your mind.

“I’ve heard people use everything from very disturbing to funny ringtones,” she said.

“If you hear “dum, dum, dum,” that sounds bad, right?” she continued.

“When you pick up the phone and you’re listening to them, it can be perceived as trouble and doomsday.”

Changing up the phone associated with someone when they call you can also make a difference in your subconscious.

“This is a super simple idea, but it can start with little things like that that are actionable,” she said.

“Let’s say that you’re having relationship issues or are struggling to love someone — you can put things around that person and send it,” she added.

“That can be a colorful thing on your screensaver, a good song that you love.”

She says that just as you can “literally create love” that way, you can just as easily uncreate it in the same way.

These techniques can also be used on someone who has a love or sexual addiction.

“We just start to create distance between those spaces. So it’s less mystical and it’s more science,” she said.

She has also worked with mothers who wish to find better ways of expressing their love for their children.

“These women love their children but in many cases due to how they were raised, they might have a hard time showing it,” she said.

HYPNOTIZED INTO HAPPINESS

Aside from helping stars halt the brakes on breaking hearts, she also helps them with another problem that might be less noticeable — guilt.

She says the biggest issue facing high performers is that they’re unhappy.

“They say, ‘I I feel guilty right now because I have a beautiful life, and I hate my life.’ Now it’s, ‘I’m not living a life, the life is living me,'” she said.

“And they’re not ungrateful people at all. In fact, they’ve attained exactly what they wanted to attain, but you can’t feel what that walk is until you’re in those shoes, right?” she added.

“So we start to deconstruct what are the things, what are the problems, where’s the noise, where is it catching you up”

She also spends a lot of time with staffing and assistants.

“They need different people helping out for different needs at different times, she said.

“If my client is unhappy it seeps into everything else in their life,” she added.

This has included meltdowns over canceled hair appointments and managing a large household.

YOU ARE GETTING VERY SUCCESSFUL

People also so hypnotherapy their own way.

“My clients in the arts and entertainment are a lot of fun because they’re very emotional, very visual.

“Athletes, you know, they want to see their outcome show in physical form — hitting a ball, reaching an end goal.

“It’s about some measurable difference in their performance.

“Tech people are interesting because they process everything digitally.”

For businessmen, you guessed it.

“They want to see their dollars go up,” she said.

‘HYPNO FAN’ KATE MIDDLETON

Hypnosis has become newsworthy due to some high-profile fans including Kate Middleton, who famously underwent hypnobirthing techniques.

Not a fan of the dentist? There’s a hypnotherapy for that — or at least ways to manage pain.

Training your mind also goes through trends.

In pre-pandemic times, she remembers when everything was all about weight loss and undertaking extreme sports.

“Even if they were like super fit, they wanted to be more fit. They wanted to climb the mountain. They wanted to surf the wave.

“There was all of this extra physical energy being put into people and their psyche.

Looking back, she realized this would turn out to be a precursor for the challenge we were all about to be facing.

MAPPED OUT MINDSET

Friedmutter’s services aren’t limited to those looking to get gold medals or find themselves atop Mount Everest.

Even more commonly, she helps those dealing with a feeling of general malaise.

“It’s this map of, ‘How to really live that life that you want?’ So it’s really mapping out a different way of doing things,” she said.

“And then the person reports back, ‘Oh, my gosh, I just blazed through that issue. I didn’t even think twice,'” she added.

“‘I was doing it before I even realized I was doing it.’ So it puts in this automatic service to yourself.”

She also hopes to dispel some myths about the method.

“It’s super interesting because hypnosis is such a broad span of really what a lot of people think it is from history,” she said.

“The film industry has turned it into something else entirely because every bank ever robbed was robbed by someone who was under hypnosis, it seems,” she added.

Many people she encounters also believe it’s meant to treat addiction, but she makes clear that it’s more about your habitual pattern.

“It’s really your thoughts, it’s your language, it’s the way that you operate in relationships,” she said.

There’s nothing that your subconscious doesn’t run and that you can’t guide to run better.

Kim Friedmutter

While the notion of hypnotherapy might conjure images of “you’re getting very sleepy” as your eyes hover over a moving object, in reality she describes it as more of a “clinical feeling.”

“It’s a soft protocol. A lot of people are surprised that they just feel like had a nice little snooze,” she said.

“They wake up feeling very refreshed, but they’re surprised that they feel still like themselves. They don’t have certain urges,” she added.

“They just feel really good. How it plays out in real life is that the client then leaves and they process things differently.”

She also uses a zero gravity chair so that they don’t feel their body as she over the protocol with them consciously, always making very clear what they’re working on.

“You’re really just drifting off very melodically to sleep,” she said.

“There’s nothing that your subconscious doesn’t run and that you can’t guide to run better,” she added.

“There isn’t anything that you’re out of control of when it comes to you. It’s almost like back to Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, like everything you have, you had it all along.

“The end goal is to feel like you have total autonomy over anything that happens to you externally or internally.

“We tend to give a lot of power away. The best thing about what I do is that I treat the person, not the problem.”

SOCIAL MEDIA SHAME

She also blames social media for making many people judge themselves, a topic she even discusses in her book.

“We’re in this very interesting place in life where we see everybody’s business played out on screen, whether it’s Instagram or another platform,” she said.

“We’ve lost our sense of judgment of what’s good for us and when we see how others are performing, we constantly are in contrast with that,” she added.

“The visibility of everybody’s internal and private life has really changed.”

Kim also recently released a new book about how she unlocks our ‘power from within the inner mind’ that is currently for sale on Amazon.
