LOWER EAST SIDE, Manhattan (PIX11) – A man whacked a woman with a hockey stick on the Lower East Side during an unprovoked attack last week, according to the NYPD.
The 26-year-old woman was walking on East 6th Street around 10:30 p.m. when the man approached her and hit her in the leg without warning, according to authorities.
EMS personnel treated the victim, police said.
The suspect was last seen running eastbound on East 6th Street, according to authorities. He remained on the loose, as of Thursday morning.
The NYPD released surveillance video of the attack on Wednesday.
