Mission BBQ opens in Colonie

COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Mission BBQ, a national chain that supports military members, police officers, firefighters, and first responders, has opened in Colonie's Northway Mall. According to Olshan Properties, Mission BBQ opened on Tuesday, April 16.

Olshan Properties owns Northway Mall, also known as Northway Shopping Center or Northway Commons, at 1440 Central Avenue. The standalone building that houses Mission BBQ was redeveloped from the former Petco store into three new retail spaces.

The other two retail spaces are occupied by Club Pilates and Mattress Firm. Club Pilates opened on April 1 and has more than 1,000 locations around the world. Mattress Firm opened in December 2023.

"By creatively reimagining one of our buildings, we've unlocked its potential and created exciting opportunities for these three sensational new tenants and our loyal customers," said Ken Marshall, Senior Vice President of Commercial Assets at Olshan Properties. “This strategic renovation, combined with the new tenant offerings, underscores our dedication to fostering dynamic retail environments and we couldn’t be more excited to congratulate the trio on their openings!"

The Mission BBQ menu includes brisket, pulled pork, sausage, turkey, pulled chicken, baby back ribs, chicken, salmon, barbecue sandwiches, and sides such as mac-and-cheese, baked beans, fries, and coleslaw. You can view the full menu on the Mission BBQ website.

Mission BBQ opened its first location on September 11, 2011. The chain now has over 130 restaurants across the United States, with its other New York restaurant located in Henrietta.

Burlington, formerly known as Burlington Coat Factory, will also be opening in Northway Mall. The discount retailer is set to have its grand opening on May 3.
