With a passion for plants and a dog, she still made the circumstances work in her favor.
Utilizing just 450 square feet, she credits a budget buy for helping her pull it off.
The expert revealed her design secrets to help others make the most out of a smaller space.
LUXURY ON A BUDGET
Browning said when it comes to interior design for a home like hers, getting rid of clutter is everything.
“To give your home a luxurious feel without overspending, prioritize decluttering and organizing,” she said.
“A clutter-free environment instantly elevates the overall aesthetic and functionality of your space.
“Keep items out in the open that serve a purpose or bring you joy. This will streamline your space and create a more polished look.”
She also recommended looking into alternative ways to light up the room — literally and figuratively.
“Additionally, focus on enhancing the lighting in your home. Lighting plays a pivotal role in setting the mood and ambiance of a room,” she said.
“Aim for a combination of lighting sources such as overhead fixtures, table lamps, and floor lamps to add depth and warmth to your living areas.
“Opt for warm inviting light bulbs to enhance the cozy atmosphere.”
THE BIG NO-NO
Browning also warned against a few mistakes to avoid when making the most out of a smaller home.
“One of the biggest mistakes people make when shopping for home decor is forgetting to consider the overall cohesive vision for their space,” she said.
“Without a cohesive vision, it’s easy to end up with a collection of individual pieces that don’t work well together.
“This can result in a disjointed look rather than a harmonious and well-designed space.”
TIPPED OFF
The interior design pro also made sure to include her best advice.
“In small apartments, vertical space is valuable real estate,” she said.
“Utilize tall bookcases, wall-mounted shelves, and large picture frames to maximize empty space.
“Display colorful decor items and artwork to draw the eye upward and create visual interest.”
