Lance Lang produces impressive weekend of races in Florida

GAINESVILLE – Razorback sprinter Lance Lang won his section of the 100m in 10.21 seconds on the second day of Florida’s Tom Jones Memorial meet and is equal ninth on the UA all-time list with Wallace Spearmon, Jr.

Lang also contributed to both the 4 x 100m and 4 x 400m relays as Arkansas generated times of 39.46 and 3:03.89. On Friday, Lang moved to the No. 10 position on the UA all-time list in the 200m with a 20.44 effort.

The Razorbacks won their section of the 4 x 100m relay and placed ninth overall. The foursome included Lang, Connor Washington, Tevijon Williams, and Steven McElroy.

In the 4 x 400m relay, Arkansas ran with line-up of Lang (45.7), James Benson II (46.2), TJ Tomlyanovich (45.36), and McElroy (46.62). They placed fifth overall and were fourth among collegiate teams. Florida won the event in 3:01.20 over a 3:01.30 by Texas A&M.

A second crew of Razorbacks posted a time of 3:09.03 to finish third in their section with a crew of William Spencer, Jr. (46.9), Brandon Battle (47.3), Washington (46.54), and Wyatt Green (48.23).

Arkansas alum Chris Bailey finished runner-up in his section of the 400m Olympic Development with a 45.36 to place fourth overall. Bryce Deadmon won the first section in 45.20 while Matthew Boling claimed the second section in 45.23.

In the 400m, Benson the Arkansas entries with a 46.06 to finish fifth in the first section. Tomlyanovich set a career best of 46.18 to claim a victory in section six where teammate Battle clocked 46.93 to place sixth. Benson and Tomlyanovich placed 15th and 16th overall.

Riley Wells had a time of 1:49.19 to finish seventh in the second section of the 800m Invite. A mark of 47-3.5 (14.41) placed Link Lindsey 14th in the triple jump.

Racing in California this weekend, Kirami Yego established an outdoor career best of 13:29.49 in the 5,000m and moved to No. 10 on the UA all-time list. Yego placed 13th in the race while teammate Patrick Kiprop finished 21st in 13:40.70.

Racing in a different section of the 5,000m, Ben Shearer set a PR of 13:32.98 to place fifth while teammate Jacob McLeod established an outdoor career best of 13:57.21 to place 18th.

A career best was also turned in by Tommy Romanow, who placed 10th with a 13:51.91.
