Monty: We’re Looking For A Reaction

Nick Montgomery wants to see a reaction from his players as they face Motherwell this Saturday.

Hibs come into this one off the back of a disappointing defeat against St Johnstone at Easter Road last weekend, knowing that they have to better Dundee’s result to have a chance of getting into the top six.

The players have been training hard all week in preparation for this fixture, and Montgomery has made it clear that he wants to see something else from his players.

“It was a big week leading into this really important game. The preparation has been good and we’re looking for a reaction from the disappointing result last week.

“We’ve been focused fully on Motherwell; a game that’s really important for us to win.

“I hope the away fans make the noise they always do because it’s a really important day for the Club.”

Our opponents, Motherwell, will be buoyed from a late comeback against Dundee last Saturday and know that they have to beat Hibs to have any possible chance of being in the top six.

“Motherwell have everything to play for and Stuart has done a good job there,” said our Head Coach.

“They got a good result last week coming from 2-0 down and we know it’ll be a difficult game.

“There are a few teams relying on the last game/result before the split, so both teams will be going for the win. It has the ingredients to be an exciting game.”

Around 2,000 Hibees have purchased tickets for the game at Fir Park and Montgomery has praised the supporters, once again, for their backing.

“Every time we go away from home, they’re behind the team, they’re vocal and we really appreciate the support they give us. Our fans are really important and travel in their numbers.

“We want to put a performance on for them and show them a reaction from last weekend’s result. I’m looking forward to seeing them tomorrow.”
