Operation Refresh to begin in Troy on Monday
TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- City of Troy Quality of Life Action crews will begin the spring-cleaning process as part of the Troy Operation Refresh on Monday with a new addition of bulk drop-off. With warm weather creeping into the forecast, the city is planning deep cleaning of alleyways, streets, and city parks.
The six week cleaning schedule created by the City of Troy will offer three Saturdays for residents to drop bulk items off at the Troy Resource Management facility, located at 433 River St. Street sweeping will be 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday on assigned alleyways and streets.
City Quality of Life Action Crew members will be in neighborhoods on foot and in vehicles, no parking signs will be posted the day before and removed as each street is finished. Lawn, tree, and other natural debris can be piled on the curb by resident's homes the night before crews arrive.
Troy Mayor Carmella Mantello said the intense cleaning will press the refresh button for streets, alleyways and the city overall. "We are going street by street, alleyway by alleyway to create a cleaner, greener Troy, and building pride in our city. That starts with being clean,” she said.
City of Troy parks will also see enhancements during the clean up with the cleaning and painting of the fountains at the Knick and Frear Park circle. Other improvements consist of fence repairs at Poestenkill Gorge, scraping and painting tennis practice walls, and trash receptacle painting.

- April 15 to 16: All alleys from 118th Street to 125th street
- April 17 to 18: All alleys from 108th Street to 118th Street
- April 19 to 20: All alleys from 101st Street to 108th Street
- April 23 to 24: All Alleys from 101st Street to Ferry Street
- April 25 to 26: All alleys from Ferry Street to Ida Street
- April 29 to 30: All alleys from Canal Street to Van Buren Street
- May 1 to 2: All alleys from Van Buren Street to Main Street
Bulk drop-off
- April 20, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- May 4, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- May 11, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
