GOSSIP Girl stars sent fans wild and sparked second reboot rumors with their unexpected reunion.
The iconic television show followed the lives of privileged students on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.
Ed Westwick and Chace Crawford who starred in the cult classic took to Instagram with a rare snap together.
Chase captioned the photo: “Ran into an old friend. @edwestwick.”
One fan commented: “Reunion XOXO.”
Whilst another added: “We miss you so much.”
“Gossip Girl reboot,” penned a third.
And a fourth added: “You guys could still play Chuck and Nate. Please bring back gossip girl.”
“Please do a reboot,” echoed a fifth.
Ed played Chuck Bass on Gossip Girl whilst Chace played Nate Archibald.
The show was removed from Netflix in 2020.
In July 2021, a new generation of fans were able to fall in love with the franchise after the show found new life on HBO Max.
Sadly, the streaming service opted not to renew it after the second season.
The reboot was canceled in 2023.
Showrunner Joshua Safran released a statement that read: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce Gossip Girl will not be continuing on HBO Max.
“Thank you for watching, and I hope you’ll tune into the finale next Thursday to see how it all comes together. xoxo.”
An exact reason for the cancellation has not been provided.
