Carson Daly ‘Highly Recommends’ This Controversial Housing Decision That Saved His Marriage to Siri
Carson Daly is divorced, but not in the way you may think!
On April 8, while attending the Today show’s Solar Eclipse watch event held at The American Museum of Natural History, he dished on his and wife Siri’s sleeping arrangements.
He revealed they “both secretly love it,” and talked about how it saved their relationship.
“The object is to stay together. That’s what we’d like to do. And so reverse engineering that, it’s like — by any means necessary, for the two of us, [we want to] still be in a relationship when we’re dying,” he said via People, adding that “whatever it takes” includes “sleep divorce.”
“It’s been good for us. We don’t do it all the time, but a couple of days during the week — especially if I want to watch an Islanders hockey game kind of later at night — I go into the guest room, she retires upstairs to read her book or watch a show… It just takes a lot of attention out and it works. So I highly recommend sleep divorce,” he said.
He and Siri actually started their “sleep divorce” back in 2019, and has talked about it quite a few times since then, and has never stopped singing its praises. In fact, back in 2022, he said, “I was served my sleep-divorce papers a few years ago. It’s the best thing that ever happened to us. We both, admittedly, slept better apart.”
What are the Pros & Cons of Sleeping Separately?
HealthNews actually found a survey that showed one-third of couples surveyed wanted to sleep in separate beds, specifically, they said that “In a recent YouGov survey of more than 12,000 adults, only two-thirds of Americans want to share a bed with their partner.” So it’s not an uncommon want by many couples.
But are there benefits? There are actually a lot of benefits to sleeping separately, and per LiveStrong, some of the benefits include better sleep, increased intimacy, and reduced pressure to have sex.
However, HealthNews also found that some couples also experienced less intimacy and limited opportunities for affection.
So it’s really up to each couple and their wants/ needs!
How Long Have Daly and Siri Been Together?
After meeting in 2005 and dating soon after, Daly and Sirir got engaged eight years later. They married in late 2015 and later welcomed four children together.
