WITH Easter been and gone, chances are you’re all still tucking into the remnants of your remaining chocolate eggs.
But, if you’ve already chomped your way through all of your mouthwatering treats and your sweet tooth is eager for more, then now just might be the time to get yourself down to your local supermarket.
A bargain hunter snapped up 14 Lindt gold bunny eggs for the reduced price of just £1.25[/caption] People branded the Morrisons shopper “greedy” for clearing the shelves[/caption]That’s because one savvy shopper rushed online after snapping up 16 hugely discounted Easter eggs from her local Morrisons which had been slashed from £12 to just £1.25 – meaning a whopping £10.75 saving.
However, not everyone was left impressed, with some branding her “greedy” for swiping the shelves clean.
Taking to money-saving Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, she proudly shared a photo of her huge haul of Lindt gold bunny salted caramel eggs.
Alongside the image, she penned: “Morrisons this morning, £1.25, marked down wrong…think they where either £10 or £12.”
The post has since racked up a whopping 550 likes and over 238 comments – with very mixed responses.
Some shoppers didn’t hold back and were quick to slam the woman for nabbing so many and not saving any for others.
“Why don’t you leave it for other people – why have you got a buy 16 you greedy bugger?” raged one.
A second noted: “That woman from yesterday who worked at Morrison’s will be livid, you’ll be screenshotted and sent to the group chat.”
Elsewhere, others were quick to point out that Monday was the prime time to grab a deal on discounted eggs, and congratulated the eagle-eyed shopper for her bargain buys.
“Got loads of expensive eggs for under £1.50 in various shops, Monday is the best day to give eggs and save a fortune,” wrote one.
A second noted: “Not marked down wrong that’s correct price Easter over they need to make way for new stock. Enjoy your stash lol.”
A third commented: “Nothing in Tesco was reduced…gutted!”
Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “I got £45 worth of eggs for £4.40 with my staff discount.”
A further added: “I paid £9 for this on Saturday @Sainsbury’s.”
In other posts, some shoppers helpfully pointed out other supermarkets that’ve also slashed their leftover chocolate Easter eggs.
Mollie posted a snap of a Space Galeggsy egg and noted: “Aldi from £10 to £5.
“Was hidden at the back of shelf…will be put away for a birthday in few weeks time.”
A second shared an image of several Milky bar mini eggs bar, Kinder Joy treats and Cadbury Creme egg bars and noted: “Morrisons 35p – 40p – 60p.”
And a further named Lauren pointed out: “Love the day after Easter…got 3 bunnies two branded Easter eggs the Easter egg hunt and marzipan egg for £5.50 – from Aldi Feltham. Yummy.”
