Liverpool have an interest in Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi, and it seems he has a release clause of just €15million that could make him a realistic target for this summer.
The Italian tactician has done tremendous work during his time at Brighton, and it would be intriguing to see what he could do with a bigger and more ambitious club, with better resources at his disposal.
De Zerbi is one name on Liverpool’s list, as Fabrizio Romano recently told CaughtOffside, but for now it seems Bayern Munich have made contact with him, suggesting perhaps that their interest is more advanced for the moment.
Romano has also made it clear that Sporting Lisbon boss Ruben Amorim may be ahead of De Zerbi in the running to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, so it perhaps makes sense that things are now progressing with Bayern, even if nothing is decided yet.
See below for details in Romano’s latest YouTube video…
De Zerbi looks a fine option for a number of top clubs, and Bayern will do very well indeed if they win the race for his signature this summer.
Thomas Tuchel will be leaving the Allianz Arena at the end of the season after struggling in recent times, but Romano insists there are still other names alongside De Zerbi in contention for the job.
Liverpool will surely also follow this situation with interest, as it may be worth considering De Zerbi as an alternative if things don’t work out with Amorim, or if Bayern also decide to go in a different direction, leaving the Seagulls boss still available.
Either way, it won’t be easy replacing Klopp at LFC, with the Reds facing a daunting task rebuilding once their long-serving legendary German tactician steps down at the end of this campaign.
