The cause of a four-vehicle crash that included a Metro bus in Leimert Park and involved a suspected DUI driver was under investigation, authorities said.
A Metro bus driver and a passenger were among nine people taken to hospitals following the collision on Thursday, March 28.
The crash occurred around 3:40 p.m. in the 3500 block of West 39th Street, near Crenshaw Boulevard.
A silver SUV ended up on its side and another vehicle suffered extensive damage.
“A bus operator and one passenger were transported to local area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, and 10 other passengers reported more injuries,” Metro said in a statement.
Firefighters evaluated at least 14 people, including occupants from other vehicles. Three people were taken to hospitals in moderate condition, while six others were taken to hospitals in fair condition.
“The rest declined ambulance transport to an area hospital after being assessed on scene,” said Nicholas Prange, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
