EASTER is just around the corner and one of the best parts of the four-day holiday is the excuse to indulge in copious amounts of chocolate.
To find the tastiest and best value Easter eggs, we put dozens to the test to find the winner across a range of categories.
We compared supermarket own-brand eggs and there was a clear winner that scored top marks on both taste and price – beating M&S and Waitrose.
Branded eggs were put to the test as well, with the winner coming in top over both Cadbury and Lindt.
Luxury eggs were also taste tested. These luxurious treats can cost serious bucks but our winner came in at a palatable £15.
And you can spend under £3 on an egg for kids to get good quality chocolate that will keep them happy come Easter morning.

Opt for a supermarket own-brand egg can save you a wad of cash at Easter – and better yet, it doesn’t mean you need to compromise on taste.
The winner was Sainsbury’s Taste The Difference Belgian Honeycomb Corn Crunch Egg, tasting better than many luxury brands and it only costs £8.
The egg aims to recreate the nostalgic flavour of traditional Easter cornflake cakes which it does perfectly.
The creamy Belgian milk chocolate is studded with nuggets of honeycomb and crunchy roasted corn and it has a perfect balance of sweet and salty flavour.

Most people will find that their favourite chocolate bar has an egg out for Easter. Some branded eggs met expectations but others fell wide of the mark.
The overall winner was Toblerone The Edgy Egg, £10, from Ocado.com.
Just like the brand’s original triangular bar the egg is made with honey and almond nougat pieces which give a lovely contrast to the velvety smooth chocolate to create an egg both adults and kids will love.
