NIGEL Farage has been offered a five-figure sum to be locked behind bars on Channel 4’s Banged Up.
The Brexiteer and I’m A Celeb finalist, 59, told The Sun on Sunday last week he thought the show was “very interesting”.
Now, we can reveal producers are keen to get him to take part — and are willing to stump up big money.
A source said: “Nigel isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but he’s great for ratings.
“He did surprisingly well in the jungle and is keen to do more reality TV. Producers are hoping to get a deal over the line with him soon.”
In Banged Up, celebs have their home comforts stripped away as they do time alongside ex-lags to get a glimpse of what jail life is like.
Filming for the second series will take place in September, when the stars will live in a decommissioned prison for eight nights.
The show, produced by Shine TV, is up for a reality gong at this year’s Bafta TV Awards.
Stars on the first season were actor Sid Owen, 52, porn tractor ex-MP Neil Parish, 67, singer HRVY, 25, Friday Night Dinner’s Tom Rosenthal, 36, Tory MP Johnny Mercer, 42, and newspaper columnist Peter Hitchens, 72.
They spent eight nights in HMP Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
Ex-EastEnders star Sid said he broke down several times while inside, adding: “It was pretty harrowing.”
Mr Farage earnt £1.5million as the highest-paid campmate on ITV’s I’m A Celeb last year. He came third. Channel 4 said: “No re-commission decision has been made on Banged Up.”
