Jaipur: KL Rahul is making a comeback to competitive cricket after a while and after a number of seasons opening the batting in the IPL for various franchises, the Lucknow Super Giants captain has got into a new role of playing in the middle order. During their IPL 2024 opener against Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur, Rahul was hit on the helmet by a Trent Boult bouncer in the third over. Once Rahul was hit, he took his helmet off and the medical staff rushed in. In the meanwhile, the cameras panned towards Athiya Shetty, who had a concerned look on her face.

In the 194 chase, Rahul is going to be the key for Lucknow. At the time of filing the copy, Rahul is on 17 off 17 balls, while the Super Giants are 57 for three in seven overs.
With the T20 World Cup coming up, it is no secret that spotlight would be on Rahul. If Rahul performs well, he could make the WC squad as the wicketkeeper.
