PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Spring showers and mild temperatures remain around the Portland-Vancouver metro area Sunday. A few breaks in the clouds could give way to sunshine for some Sunday afternoon.
Scattered showers and mostly cloudy skies will keep afternoon temperatures in the mid to upper 50s along the Willamette Valley. The calm and mild weather will keep Portland's waterfront cherry blossoms in place this weekend, but heavier rain Monday could put an end to the yearly spectacle.
Scattered showers are most likely during the morning hours and around sunset in Portland Sunday. A few dry moments are likely, but rain accumulation will near a tenth of an inch around Portland.
Cooler and wetter weather is expected around the Pacific Northwest Monday. Temperatures will fall into the low 50s as rainy moments take over the forecast. Snow elevations will also fall to nearly 3,500 feet Monday. This will bring beneficial snow back to Oregon's mountain ski resorts.
Scattered rain showers and mild temperatures are expected for much of the week. This comes as Oregon students enjoy spring break, but warmer and drier weather expected by next weekend. Sunny skies and highs in the 60s are likely as Easter Sunday approaches.
