Rishabh Pant Wins Hearts Despite SOFT Dismissal During PBKS vs DC IPL 2024 Match; Netizens REACT
Chandigarh: With all the spotlight on Rishabh Pant on Saturday as he made his way out to the middle during Delhi Capitals opener against Punjab Kings in Chandigarh, pressure was on the skipper. Pant walked into the middle after the Capitals lost David Warner. Pant initially picked up a few singles and then got a reprieve when Harshal Patel could not see the ball and dropped the catch. Pant then departed of the very next over trying to ramp a slower delivery from Harshal. It was a soft dismissal, not something Pant would be happy about. He perished for 18 off 13 balls.
The reactions from the fans were heartwarming as most reckoned they were just happy to see him back on the field playing cricket.

“Jittery, nervous, excited- all of it, but at the same time, just happy, being able to come back to professional cricket. I’m just looking forward to playing my first game tomorrow,” Pant expressed at the pre-match press conference on Friday.
However, while Pant have worked a lot on his batting, it is unlikely he will keep wickets against Punjab Kings. Avishek Porel, who donned the big gloves last season, is expected to do the tough job again. “Every time I take the field, it’s a different feeling altogether. I just wanted to bat as much as I could and get better every day. I don’t think much ahead, I take one day at a time, and give my 100%,” he added.
For the unknown, Delhi Capitals will be playing two of their home games in Visakhapatnam, the first of which is happening on Saturday. Speaking about the approach this season, Pant said “Most of the conversations are pretty simple, we just want to go out there, have fun, not complicate things and give our 100% in all the games.”
