‘It’s like new again’ cries cleaning fan as miracle £1.49 spray banishes black mould from her favourite shirt in minutes
A MUM has revealed the £1.49 miracle spray she now swears by after it restored her mould-riddled clothes to pristine new.
Hazel Mckinnie – one half of the Wee Scotty Cleaners – regularly shares tips to get your home sparking on TikTok, where the duo boast 92,000 followers.
In a recent TikTok video, the mum of two revealed she had accidentally left one of her favourite shirts under a damp towel in her laundry bag.
When she returned from a holiday two weeks later, it was covered in black mould spots.
Showing the damage in a video, the 44-year-old said: “So this is one of my good white shirts that I wear with my jeans all the time.
“I had it on in London and then I came home and I left it lying in my washing basket and I must have chucked a wet towel on top of it.
“Then I’ve went on holiday and left it in the basket for a fortnight with the wet towel so now it’s got damp marks on it.
“I’m absolutely gutted.”
Hazel turned to Astonish mould and mildew spray to solve the problem.
She generously sprayed her shirt with the product before popping it in the washing machine for a 60C cycle.
Holding it up afterwards, the mum gushed: “My shirt is new again and thank goodness for that because I was nearly crying, I love that shirt.
“It’s absolutely pristine again.”
And she’s not the only cleaning fanatic who swears by the spray, as another revealed: “Did this with a rust/yellow stain on cloth shower curtain from holiday let and brought it out like new.”
Hazel and business partner Claire Jenkins run their own launderette and shop in Moffat, Dumfriesshire, called The Laundry Room.
The duo are also a viral sensation on TikTok (@theweescottycleaners) thanks to their cleaning hacks – with their videos earning them millions of views.
