‘It would be nice’ – Spurs-linked attacker does not rule out a move to Juventus

Genoa attacker, Albert Gudmundsson, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham over recent months, has refused to rule out the possibility of heading to Juventus in the summer.

The versatile Gudmundsson, who can operate as a number ten or in either flank, is thought to be on Tottenham’s radar, with various outlets revealing over the past two months that the Lilywhites are watching the player closely (Gazzetta dello Sport).

Earlier this month, some publications also talked up Juventus’ interest in the attacker, with the Old Lady being named as Tottenham’s main competitor for the Genoa star (Tuttosport).

Last week, Calciomercato reported that Spurs are one of the clubs at the front of the queue for the Icelandic international and that the North London side would be ready to meet Genoa’s demands for the player.

Albert Gudmundsson opens up on his future

Gudmundsson has now broken his silence about his future after being asked about the possibility of reuniting with his former AZ Alkmaar teammate Teun Koopmeiners in Turin, with the Dutchman also being linked with a move to the Bianconeri.

When asked if he would like to play alongside the Atalanta midfielder at the Allianz Stadium next season, the Genoa star said (via Gianluca Di Marzio): “In football, you can never say never, but of course, many things can happen. 

“I don’t really know Koopmeiners future, I don’t even know what mine will be, we’ll see. Of course, it would be nice to play with Koopi again because he is a fantastic player.”

If Tottenham hold a serious interest in Gudmundsson, they would not have any trouble blowing Juve out of the water, given the Bianconeri’s financial problems. Besides, Spurs also have a good relationship with Genoa after striking a deal for Radu Dragusin in January.
