THERE’s emotional scenes on The Hairy Bikers on Tuesday night – the show’s final episode starring the late Dave Myers.
The Geordie died of cancer earlier this month but filmed the Go West series while undergoing chemotherapy.
As Dave and best mate Si King are filmed touring Devon and Dorset, they are thankful they were able to work together in such tough circumstances.
Welling up on camera, Si says: “We’ve done it, but more importantly he’s done it.
“He’s my mate but I love him like family, like a brother, and I’m lost for words. It’s quite remarkable what he’s done”.
Dave added: “Who knows what the future holds but for the moment I’m living in the present, and it’s pretty fine”,
After the credits roll, a tribute reads: “In loving memory of our friend, Dave Myers.”
He’ll be greatly missed.
NICOLA COUGHLAN is all prim and proper as Penelope Featherington in Bridgerton.
But for her new Channel 4 comedy Big Mood, the actress is the opposite – loud and bold, and was even able turn up on set without brushing her hair.
In the series, she plays Maggie, a 30-year-old wannabe scriptwriter who is struggling to maintain her friendship with best pal Eddie (Lydia West) while battling bipolar disorder.
Nicola said: “I’ve never played a character like Maggie, that has so little self-doubt and is so front-footed.
“I often play bookish characters, so it was really liberating to play her because there were scenes in which I was like, ‘I would never do this’.
“And for three weeks of this, I was still filming Bridgerton, but for this role I just got to roll out of bed, and sometimes turn up to set not doing my hair or wearing any make-up – it was amazing.”
KATE GARRAWAY has revealed her late husband Derek Draper, who died in January, had planned a third documentary about his long Covid struggle.
She said of Derek’s Story, which will air March 26 on ITV1: “The idea came from Derek.
“We had to find a way of allowing his voice to be heard.”

“I was a bit confused by the whole parting of the seas and turning water into wine thing.
“That all sounded mad to me, so I thought the people in the stories could also be made up.
“I had likened religion to fairytales.”

NICK GRIMSHAW hopes his new show Josh Must Win will open the door for a new type of reality star.
The former Radio 1 DJ says he’s tired of watching youngsters with six-packs lounging around a pool – and wants to see more ordinary people in the spotlight.
Nick is the host of the new E4 reality show, which sees a celebrity panel of Vicky Pattison, Pete Wicks and Amber Gill try to help underdog Josh win a popularity contest against a group of loud and confident characters.
It was a project Nick was quick to say yes to after identifying with the show’s average Joe.
Nick said: “I love reality telly but I cause myself a bit of fatigue from watching them over and over.
“So with Josh Must Win, it’s nice to see the typical reality star is not the be all and end all of TV.
“An osteopath recently told me that I’ll never have a six-pack, it would be anatomically impossible, and it was just nice to hear that some people aren’t meant to have bodies like they’re on Love Island.
“Watching those kinds of shows, it’s easy to think, ‘Is that what everyone else looks like?’.
“I saw a bit of myself in Josh, that feeling of being an outsider and not fitting in, because I didn’t fit in with the alpha gang, like when I was at school. I still feel like it sometimes.”
The series will follow Josh as he is joined by gym lads and party girls in the Big Brother-style house, partly controlled by the celeb panel of Nick, Vicky, Pete and Amber hidden behind a wall.
Former Geordie Shore star Vicki hopes the show, which airs from March 25, could lead to an overhaul of conventional reality formats and give unlikely underdogs like Josh more air time.
She adds: “The tried-and-tested juggernauts can become stale and so do the type of people that go on them.
“Sometimes nice people don’t get that chance on these shows, but we are changing that narrative.”
