Horror moment world No8 golfer Max Homa misses supporter’s head by INCHES at Players Championship
A HORROR clip showed world No8 golfer Max Homa missed hitting a fan with a powerful hit by just INCHES.
The supporter attempted to film a viral TikTok but got a little too close as he cheated death by nearly getting struck by Homa’s ball on the 14th hole.
Homa endured a disastrous 14th hole on Saturday, shooting four-over-par – but will be glad one of his shots didn’t injure a fan.
In the clip the American can be seen prepping for his shot in the third round before blasting a ball just inches above the head of the supporter.
With much to his shock and the fans standing near him, the fan appeared to be okay.
Homa was asked about the horror incident ahead of his final round on Sunday and confirmed that he hit a tree – and not a fan – in the video.
When asked if he thinks fans are allowed to be too close to the green he said: “Yeah, mostly. I asked them to back up, and they backed up their usual three or four steps.
“I was trying to go much higher than that. I should have probably asked them to move more, but I didn’t know I was going to knife it.
“Typically you ask them to move and they take two steps back. I just think it’s for their own safety. I’m glad I didn’t hit anyone, it was scary.
“I was trying to go significantly higher than that… but it gave some people a good story, I heard some people laughing, so at least they got that out of it.”

The six-time PGA tour winner scored a quadruple-bogey nine on the hole.
And this was the hole that crushed Homa’s third round at Sawgrass after hitting a two-over 74 which saw him drop in the leaderboard.
Then on Sunday, the 33-year-old bounced back with a 71, but by Sunday lunchtime he now sits 67th in the standings.
Xander Schauffele, Wyndham Clark and Brian Harman are all at the top of the leaderboard and will be fighting for the top spot on the last day of play.
