A WEDDING guest has shocked people by turning up to the ceremony in a full-length gown, with people saying she was threatening to upstage the bride.
Many people know that the first rule when you go to a wedding is don’t wear white, and the dress was dangerously light in colour.
One of the other guests shared snaps of the show-stopping gown, which had a high leg slit.
The top part of the dress had a corset-style fitting, with tiny straps, while the pale fabric was adorned with sequins.
They wrote on Reddit: “Saw an acquaintance at a wedding last night. Still shocked at what she wore.
“The theme was formal.”
The dress was so long that it had a train, which made it look even more bridal.
However, the friend revealed that the woman had intended to go a step further and wear a huge, tulle skirt on top.
She eventually opted against the look, which would have been even more like a wedding dress.
The woman is said to have eventually decided against the skirt as she “didn’t have high enough heels” and “didn’t want the dress to drag”.
People were quick to chime in with their views of the dress.
One said: “Wearing a wedding dress to someone else’s wedding makes a person look pathetic and sadly desperate for attention.”
Another added: “Wearing white to a wedding that’s not yours just SCREAMS you’re tacky, low class, and desperate for attention.”
And a third commented: “I really, really hope someone wears white to my sister’s wedding. Because we’ve agreed that I get to be the person walking around with the super soaker full of red wine.”
We previously shared how a wedding planner was fed up after noticing that four women showed up to a ceremony wearing white-hued dresses.
Saw an acquaintance after years at a wedding last night. I’m still in disbelief at what she wore

Her annoyance was so great that she couldn’t bite her tongue.
Wedding planner Cari Izaguirre said there is no reason for a guest to ever show up wearing the same colour as the bride.
Speaking about etiquette, she said in the clip: “You do not wear white to a wedding. Or a light ivory. You just don’t do it.”
Standing outside of a reception she organised, she said there were four people sporting looks that crossed the line.
This followed one wedding guest being slammed for wanting to wear a dress that was “too white”.
