Journalist provides interesting report on Eberechi Eze and Tottenham Hotspur

The Times journalist Tom Allnutt has revealed that Eberechi Eze and his entourage were given an entire box at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last Saturday in what could be a potential attempt by Spurs to woo the winger.

A little over a week ago, The Independent’s Miguel Delaney revealed that Ange Postecoglou is prioritising signing a top-quality wide player in the summer and that Eze is one of the names near the top of the Australian’s wishlist.

However, Delaney explained that a deal for the Palace star may not be easy for Tottenham to do since Manchester City are also interested in him and the player prefers a move to the Etihad Stadium.

Eze found the back of the net at Tottenham’s home ground last weekend with a brilliant free-kick before Spurs came back to win the game 3-1.

After the final whistle, several Spurs players were seen cosying up with the 25-year-old, which some Tottenham fans saw as a potential attempt to convince the player to join the club next summer.

Eberechi Eze had his own box at Tottenham

Allnutt has now also revealed that the Eagles star, his family and his agents were given a box of their own by Daniel Levy and co last week, which the journalist suggested is not normal for opposition players.

Allnutt wondered if it was perhaps an attempt to butter up Eze and his representatives ahead of a potential summer approach by Spurs.

The Times reported said on The Tottenham Way podcast: “It was interesting to me that Eze and his entourage had basically a full box to themselves at Tottenham. I don’t know if that’s entirely normal for an opposition player to have a whole suite of their friends and family and presumably, a couple of agents.

“I know Eze belongs to Base who are an agency very connected with Spurs. But I did wonder if there was a bit of wooing going on there. I wonder if they gave Eze and his pack a very nice day out at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. I don’t know, maybe that’s just me contemplating.”

This does not seem like a coincidence to me. It was likely Tottenham’s attempt to showcase to Eze’s family just what the winger would be signing up for. Spurs will be hoping that the London factor could also prove decisive in the 25-year-old’s eventual transfer decision.
