I scored big at the thrift store with $20 shoes – I knew their true value when I saw the soles
A THRIFTY shopper didn’t come to play – she was serious about paying less for name-brand buys.
Her plotting proved to be a success as she ran off with the shoes she had found for a steal.
“This is my first thrift of the New Year, and judging by the soles, can you tell what they are?” asked the shopper behind (@thrifttravelcraft).
She showed off the bottom of the white sneakers with a patterned design resembling squiggly lines made of rubber.
Another telltale sign was the cork detail on the side.
In case you didn’t guess yet, she was going to fill you in.
“They are Birkenstocks baby, in my size,” she said.
She showed off the rounded toe and label imprint.
“Bend low leather sneaker from Birkenstock, $155 retail, but thrifted for $20.”
She knew she had lucked out big time with the budget buy.
“I need to test them out a little bit, but what a score to start the year,” she said.
It seemed her money-saving deal would also give extra comfort so she could run back for more thrifting hunts.
The $155 Birkenstock bend low leather sneaker is described as featuring a cork-latex footbed that creates custom support.
Other features of the lace-up style include the deep molding in the heel area that supports foot tissue and holds the heel bone firmly in its natural position.
They also offer traverse arch support that runs through the middle of the footbed, stabilizing the metatarsal bone.
Available in a variety of colors, the sneakers are meant to make feet feel as if they are standing in sand.
