OC Fair 2024: Phil Collins, Van Halen and ELO tribute acts added to The Hangar
For all the rock and roll shows we miss or never had the chance to experience live, some great tribute bands are crafting the tunes that take us back and others that put their unique spin on the presentation.
One More Night (a tribute to Phil Collins and Genesis) will perform on Sunday, July 21; Ticket to the Moon (a tribute to Electric Light Orchestra) on Thursday, July 25; and Atomic Punks (a tribute to early Van Halen) on Saturday, July 27. The trio of shows are all part of the concert series taking place inside The Hangar at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa this summer.
Tickets are $20-$25 and go on sale Friday, March 9 at pacamp.com. Each event will include same-day admission for the fair.
If original acts are more your jam, the OC Fair has plenty of those too over at the adjacent Pacific Amphitheatre including rock band Cake performing on Tuesday, July 9; The Happy Together Tour on Sunday, July 21, with The Turtles, Jay and The Americans, The Association, Badfinger, The Vogues and The Cowsills; and Los Tucanes de Tijuana on Sunday, July 14, with a special guest Voz de Mando.
August performances include country star Brett Young headlining on Aug. 4; country-pop singer-songwriter Walker Hayes on Wednesday, Aug. 7; Isla Vista-based reggae rock band Rebelution, who announced it will headline for four evenings on Aug. 8-11 while out on its Good Vibes Cali Tour with special guests Kolohe Kai, Matisyahu, Cydeways and DJ Mackle.
Chris Lane will take the stage on Wednesday, Aug. 14, followed by a co-headlining acoustic performance by Rick Springfield and Richard Marx on Thursday, Aug. 15.
After the fair, blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter Bonnie Raitt will perform a special show on Sept. 14.
