Tyreek Hill’s Lawyer Responds to Lawsuit Claiming Dolphins WR Broke Model’s Leg

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill‘s streak of off-field incidents continued this week, when a woman accused the NFL star of breaking her leg while running a football drill at his home. According to ESPN, a lawyer for Hill denied that the receiver is responsible for the injury in a statement made on Thursday.

Sophie Hall, who is a model, actress and social media influencer, filed a civil lawsuit in Broward County, Fla. on Feb. 23 in which she accused the Dolphins wide receiver of battery, assault, negligence and intentional infliction of emotional distress after the incident at Hill’s home last June.

Hall said in the lawsuit that Hill flew her down to his home in South Florida to stay with him, but became “angry and embarrassed” when she knocked Hill back while performing a football drill. Hill allegedly “charged into her violently and with great force, resulting in significant and serious injuries,” according to the suit. Hall also said that Hill declined to get her medical attention.

When Hall returned home, she was diagnosed with a fractured leg and needed surgery. 

Hill’s accounting of events varied significantly to Hall’s. According to Hill’s attorney Julius B. Collins, Hall injured her leg by tripping over a dog while performing the football drills. Collins accused Hall’s representation of intentionally omitting that from the lawsuit, and said that there is a pending claim with Hill’s homeowner’s insurance company that would fully cover all of Hall’s medical bills.

Hall’s lawsuit requested between $50,001 and $75,000  in damages and demanded a trial by jury. Hill is ready to defend himself, according to Collins. 

In a statement made earlier in the week, Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said the team is aware of the issue and is in contact with NFL security about it, but cannot comment further.
