Donald Trump Jr. wants to push for support for his dad in an unlikely source, he said Tuesday.
In a post to X, the former president's son said campaigners should be out in America's Amish communities, pushing members to turn out to vote for the former president's return to the White House.
The push is part of what he called an "all-of-the-above voter strategy" that he said was needed to secure Trump wins in the general election.
"In 2024, we need an all-of-the-above voter strategy," Trump Jr. wrote. "That means voter registration at gun shows, concerts, UFC fights — and even in Amish country."
As Newsweek points out, Trump Jr. included a video showing an interview he appeared in with Early Vote Action founder Scott Presler where they discussed different communities throughout the U.S. that they would like to see vote Republican.

In another post to X, Presler declared, "We are actively registering the Amish to vote."
Trump Jr. then shared Presler's post, adding, "He's working harder than ever to register new voters and even says the Amish could be a major factor in states like Pennsylvania."
Historically, members of Amish communities don't turn out in large numbers for national elections unless local issues or on the ballot. In fact, experts said, more conservative churches may frown upon voting in presidential elections.
"A lot of this goes back to the Gospel and Jesus noting that his kingdom is not of this world," Kyle Kopko, an adjunct professor of political science at Elizabethtown College in Pennsylvania, told Ohio's Daily Record before the 2020 election.
"His kingdom is in heaven and you as a believer ought to focus not on the worldly endeavors, but focus on being a citizen of God's kingdom."
