FeedMore WNY in final days of 'Spread the Love' peanut butter drive
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Do you prefer creamy or crunchy peanut butter? Whichever is your preference, FeedMore WNY is collecting all types of peanut butter, and alternatives like almond butter during the month of February during their "Spread the Love" food drive.
FeedMore has already collected more than 5,000 pounds of peanut butter with a couple of days still to go. Last year, they totaled 7,600 pounds, and are hoping to surpass that goal.
“Donations of peanut butter always are highly desired and greatly appreciated here at FeedMore WNY. Not only is peanut butter packed with protein, but it is shelf stable and beloved by children and adults alike,” FeedMore volunteer and event coordinator Betsy Campbell said in a release. “We frequently distribute peanut butter to our partner food pantries and hunger-relief agencies throughout our four-county service area, and it is a staple menu item for our BackPack Program serving children in need.”
If you'd like to donate your own peanut butter, you can do so by dropping jars off at FeedMore's warehouse, located at 91 Holt St. in Buffalo. Its hours of operation are weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can also donate online here.
