AN Amazon Fire TV Stick user has revealed six free streaming apps for the device and you may want to download a few.
The list includes some favorites like YouTube but also apps that you may never have heard of.
“There are tons of fantastic apps for your Fire Stick beyond Netflix and Prime,” wrote the Fire TV Stick user on Quora.
The statement was in response to a question another Quora user had asked about the best apps to download on an Amazon Fire TV Stick.
“Free streaming: Pluto TV, Tubi, YouTube, Crackle, IMDb TV, Plex (with your own media library) provide tons of content without paid subscriptions,” the Quora user advised.
YouTube is probably the most popular app on that list and can provide you with plenty of free content.
If you sign up to YouTube TV for streaming you will have to pay a fee but regular YouTube makes money via adverts.
Tubi is one of the biggest free movie and TV services in the US.
The American company was launched way back in 2014 and now has over 74 million monthly active users.
You can access over 40,000 movies and TV series on the Tubi app.
Pluto TV also made the list and has over 200 channels, as well as thousands of movies and TV shows.
Like the other apps, it also makes its money by showing adverts.
Crackle promises to bring users “the best in free movies and TV.”
“Watch free Hollywood movies, TV series, and Crackle Originals on your favorite devices.
“Stream premium shows, movies, and exclusive titles you won’t see anywhere else – from a massive library of new and iconic hits,” the app’s Amazon listing explains.
The list on Quora mentions an app called IMDbTV but you’ll no longer find that in the app store.
That’s because the app has now changed its name to Amazon Freevee.
You can access thousands of premium movies and TV shows via Freevee.
Users can also access 150 always-on FAST channels.
Plex’s app on the Amazon AppStore is extremely popular, with a 4/5 score based on more than 210,000 reviews.
It promises thousands of free movies and TV shows.
“Enjoy everything from Oscar award-winning movies to anime, documentaries, family-friendly shows, and much, much more,” Plex states.
