Make sure to check out Christian D’Andrea’s latest NFL mock draft.
“J.J. McCarthy, first-rounder” is a thing that continues to be talked about as NFL mock draft season rolls on.
The Michigan QB wasn’t in the first round of our latest mock from Christian D’Andrea, but we’ve seen McCarthy projected all over the place to go on Night 1 of the draft.
In the latest mock from The 33rd Team, McCarthy goes No. 8 overall to the Atlanta Falcons, who definitely need a quarterback of the future. Some mocks have had the Dirty Birds trading up to get a QB, but in this case, McCarthy falls into their laps.
Here’s the reasoning from Connor Livesay:
Atlanta Falcons fans, bear with me. As disappointing as many would be with this selection, J.J. McCarthy will get drafted higher than several forecast. While the questions regarding McCarthy’s ability to put an NFL offense on his back are valid, McCarthy has the athleticism and arm talent to develop into a quality starter in the NFL. There are whispers that the Falcons like multiple quarterbacks in this class and are heavily considering drafting one at No. 8 or moving up to get one of the top three guys if they fall out of the top six.
