CNN earlier this week discovered new evidence that seemingly undermines testimony former Trump election lawyer Ken Chesebro gave to prosecutors in Michigan, and at least one legal expert isn't buying his excuses.
While testifying in Michigan's investigation of the Trump fake electors scheme, Chesebro denied that he ever used Twitter to post about his legal theories about blocking President Joe Biden from taking office.
However, CNN discovered a secret Twitter account run by Chesebro where he did exactly that, which has sparked questions about whether he committed perjury.
Chesebro's attorney's have argued that the account was merely used by their client for "stream of consciousness" musings and was not reflective of the actual legal advice he was giving to the Trump campaign back in 2020.

However, former prosecutor Jeremy Saland on Tuesday expressed skepticism that this defense would be convincing.
"It doesn't hold water," Saland said. "It is a colander with lots of holes. He was asked a very specific question and he denied using social media, he denied the twitter account... this is problematic and it's substantive too."
He also emphasized that revelations about the secret Twitter account were "very serious" for Chesebro, as prosecutors insist that people be completely truthful when they engage in witness cooperation agreements.
"What you say here can potentially be used against you," he explained. "And if you lie, it will."
