Manchester United are prepared to listen to offers for Antony when the transfer window reopens this summer, according to Daily Mail.
The Brazilian joined the Red Devils from Ajax for a hefty £86 million in 2022, but he has failed to live up to the expectations with his performances.
Antony started off with three goals in three league games, but he has netted just one more goal from his next 42 appearances in the top-flight.
In all competitions, Antony has only nine goals and four assists from 70 outings. The level of disappointment has urged the club to sell him.
While manager Erik ten Hag has not given up yet on the winger, it is claimed that the club are willing to cut their losses on him during the summer.
They could accept a significantly lesser fee. It is claimed that the club may have to sell him for less than half of what they spent – a loss of at least £43m.
The Brazilian struggled for consistency during his debut season at United, but he continued to start regularly on the right wing ahead of his competitors.
We saw a similar trend at the start of the current campaign, but Ten Hag has finally acknowledged that there are players who are more deserving to start over him.
Alejandro Garnacho has been brilliant since his switch to the right wing. Ten Hag recently handed a full club debut to Omari Forson in the role against Fulham.
The manager has publicly said that Garnacho, Forson and Amad all deserve to play ahead of Antony which is a clear warning sign for the former Ajax man.
If Antony can’t turnaround his fortunes by May, the hierarchy could realistically sanction his exit.
