Carlo Ancelotti has admitted that rumoured Tottenham target Arda Guler has found things quite challenging since his move to Real Madrid, remarking that the youngster has to improve to be a regular part of the first-team set-up.
There was plenty of excitement at Madrid about Guler’s arrival from Fenerbahce last summer but the youngster has found game time hard to come by since his switch to the Spanish capital.
It was revealed by Ok Diario earlier this month that Tottenham and Bayer Leverkusen were keeping track of the 19-year-old’s situation and that both clubs had offered to sign the teenager on loan in the summer.
Last week, the print edition of Super Deporte (via Sport Witness) backed up the interest of the German and the Premier League sides in the player, adding that AC Milan are also on the Turkey international’s trail.
However, a few days ago, Relevo pointed out that clubs interested in signing the former Fenerbahce man on loan would have to convince Los Blancos that he will get regular game time.
Ancelotti has now perhaps thrown a big hint that Guler might be loaned out, explaining that the attacking midfielder is not ready to contribute at the highest level yet.
The Real Madrid boss said about the youngster (via Fabrizio Romano): “He has had a difficult season with injuries. He is very young, he needs to be patient. He needs to reach the level which will be adequate for him to contribute at his level”.

The only way Tottenham would be interested in a move for Guler is if Madrid are ready to include an option to buy to the loan deal. There is no indication at the moment that the La Liga giants would be willing to sanction a permanent deal for the 19-year-old.
