The incident took place outside a home on Losson Road.
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- An Amherst man was arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a 42-year-old man on Jan. 15 in Cheektowaga, police announced Monday.
Police said 40-year-old Matthew Althoff allegedly struck Antwain Hankle around 7:20 p.m. while he was clearing off snow from a vehicle outside his Losson Road home. Althoff is alleged to have not stopped following the incident and continued to flee west on Losson Road and north on Union Road.
Hankle was transported to ECMC where he was later pronounced deceased.
Althoff was charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident without reporting and was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center.
