Tragic story behind mystery Toyota parked at petrol station for FOUR YEARS after people noticed it on Google Maps
A DESPERATE woman has spent four years living in a motorway services car park for a tragic reason.
The 58-year-old, from Germany, has allegedly turned her silver Toyota Celica into her home.
The vehicle has been parked there for so long that it even shows up on Google Street View.
French media report that the woman is waiting for her missing husband to return.
The woman has built her life around a small rest area on the Barchon motorway near the Belgian city of Liège.
She’s become the talk of the town as is well known among lorry drivers and other regular visitors to the motorway service station.
Her little grey car’s windows are covered with black plastic sheeting with at least one left open for ventilation.
Groceries and utensils have been neatly arranged on the back seat, turning it into a makeshift kitchen.
Her husband mysteriously vanished in Liège in 2020 and she is holding onto hope that he will show up one day
One local said: “I saw this car there as well as I had the same model at the time.”
Rita said: “Blimey, four years of waiting.”
It comes as a digital nomad has inspired others to become solo adventurers after revealing how she does life on the road with her two cats.
Quin Gable (@quingable) spent time making her van pet-friendly before deciding to go solo traveling with her felines Atlas and Otto.
She has garnered over 1 million followers on TikTok where she shares breathtaking views of the places she has visited.
She took to the social media platform to reveal how her cats cope with living in a van after being bombarded with questions.
Quin Gable said: “Here’s how I live in a van with my two cats Atlas and Otto.
“Together we’ve lived in the van for over seven months and here is what I did to make it more cat-friendly.
“Since my cats love potty karate I wanted a taller litter box inside of an enclosed space.
“Plus I have scratch pads all over the place.”
She showed a large drawer in the van that is used to store a plastic container that she has turned into a litter tray meanwhile the cats clawed at the scratch pads.
She then took the felines outside for a walk in a picturesque area while keeping them on a leash.
