Taylor Swift's Relationship With Travis Kelce Will Be 'Put to the Test' After Fairytale Beginning

Hollywood could not have written a more magical story for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce from their missed opportunity meet-cute at her concert at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City last summer to her flight across the world to see him win the Super Bowl. Now, the hard work really begins, and the dynamic duo is reportedly very aware of the pitfalls of a long-distance relationship. 

Swift’s 2024 is jam-packed with the international leg of her Eras Tour, and while Kelce has the flexibility now that his season has ended, thing will be difficult once preseason training begins. “Their whirlwind courtship has been speed and adrenaline,” a source explained to Life & Style. “With the football season over, they’re going to be put to the test to make this relationship work while she’s on tour.” There have already been reports that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end has made romantic plans for Europe with his girlfriend, but he still has stateside obligations that don’t allow him to travel with her full-time. 

The insider revealed that having those personal moments by “text and FaceTime” will be crucial to staying connected. As of right now, though, the lovebirds are on the same page. “Travis will jet to see Taylor and she’ll do the same,” they continued. “They’ll even both hop on a plane if they must.” Fans have already seen that commitment firsthand as Swift flew from Japan to Las Vegas in time to see the Super Bowl. Kelce returned the favor by flying to see his girlfriend perform in Sydney, Australia for a whirlwind 48 hours. Phew! That’s sacrificing a lot of sleep for true love. 

Swift isn’t the only one making moves in Hollywood, Kelce’s team has been working hard to make his brand as profitable as Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. That means his off-season time is important for meetings with the movers and shakers in Los Angeles. “She’s the most worried that things will stall in the weeks and months to come,” revealed the source. “She’s trying so hard, it’s obvious.” That concern is legitimate because long-distance relationships are hard, especially when there are multiple time zones involved. 

If the pop star and the athlete can get through this extremely busy year, they will be able to handle anything — and maybe there will be major milestones ahead. Taylor’s got marriage and kids on the brain,” the insider added. “One of Travis’ biggest attractions is that he’s so family-oriented. She’s 34 and the clock is ticking.” To take those next steps, though, they need to be in the same place at the same time.
