PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) -- Police arrested a man in connection to an armed robbery that took place at the Beacon Cinema in Pittsfield. Kyle Richard Wilbur, 32, was charged with armed robbery.
On Friday, around 10:18 p.m., Pittsfield Police responded to the Beacon Cinema at 57 North Street for reports of a man demanding money from the staff and saying he had a weapon. Police say after the suspect got the money he fled the scene.
Police were able to get a description of the man from witnesses and went in the direction he fled from. Police found someone matching the description in the area of Francis Avenue and Bradford Street.
The suspect, identified as Wilbur, was identified by the victim and arrested. Police did not find a weapon on him but said they found an amount of cash as evidence. He was arraigned on Monday at the Pittsfield District Court.
