THE world’s most expensive underwater hotel room offers guests breathtaking views unseen anywhere else on earth from the comfort of their bed.
The ultra-indulgent Muraka room is a five-star experience to last a lifetime as fish surround your room as the ocean gently sways right past your windows – but it does come at a hefty £17,000-a-night.
Sitting below Rangali Island in the Indian Ocean, the hotel room takes you a staggering 16ft below the surface of the Maldives and into a dreamland for ocean lovers.
To get so deep underwater the hotel’s master bedroom requires visitors to hop into a private elevator or descend down a wooden spiral staircase.
There you get greeted by thousands of fish as they gaze through the completely see-through walls directly at you.
The amazing underwater suite is built directly on the seabed and creates a perfect holiday home under the water.
Filled to the gills with the usual luxury amenities including a massive walk-in wardrobe, a pricey stocked minibar and a comfy bed and sofa.
But the jaw-dropping aspect of the room lays within the walls.
Paired up with a transparent ceiling and see-through walls on all sides guests are allowed to indulge in an amazing 180-degree view of their surroundings.
The thriving coral life and colourful, never-before-seen fish in abundance fill the windows as the days just drift past if you stay below deck for too long taking in the views.
But if the view isn’t quite clear enough past the mammoth bed there is also a personal tunnel to act as a viewing platform.
Despite the price tag dropping since it first launched in 2018 from a ridiculous £47,000, the underwater kingdom is still a must see attraction for those who can afford it.
Even the upper level of the room is totally unique with two spare bedrooms each equipped with a bathroom that faces the ocean.
Meaning that the views when you sit down on the toilet or as you brush your teeth are simply sublime.
But for those looking to not only look at the water but also touch it, the upper deck comes with an outside area fitted with an infinity pool.
To top it all off, the resort even offers the lucky buyer a 24-hour personal butler for the duration of their stay.
The creators, Conrad Hotel & Resorts say on their website: “Discover The Muraka, a first-of-its-kind, luxury two-level residence with a master bedroom submerged over 16 feet below sea level in the Indian Ocean.”
The Muraka is part of a collection of hotels on Rangali Island as part of the wonderful Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort.
Amongst these is the world’s first undersea restaurant – Ithaa – that was opened way back in 2005.
And the Overwater Spa where guests can get the full rest and relaxation treatment they’d expect from a five-star resort but with the added bonus of a glass floor letting you gaze at playful fish.
Other places to stay within the magnificent resort include the Grand Water Villa, the Sunrise Water Villa, the three bedroom beach suite or the enormous Rangali Ocean Pavilion.
One lucky man previously visited another underwater resort and revealed his unique experience of staying in the room.
Shaun Stanley, 44, visited the Manta Resort on Pemba Island, Tanzania, to live 13ft deep in water.
As incredible plans for a super-luxury resort on a desolate island in the Red Sea with an underwater pyramid and museum were also recently unveiled.
At the heart of the Shushah Island – which is part of Saudia Arabia’s £400 billion NEOM project – will also be a mind-boggling 110-mile long sideways skyscraper dubbed The Line.
