A WOMAN who scored a $6,000 purse at a thrift store has had her initial enthusiasm dented.
She was thrilled with this designer find, but people pointed out two red warning flags.
They doubted its authenticity and said it was just a dupe for the real thing.
But, at $23, she figured it was worth it and took it home with her anyway.
Msfili (@msfili) was delighted to spot some designer gold on her thrift store haul.
She has excellent form when it comes to digging out vintage classics on her thrift forays.
With a good eye for a designer item, she has hit the fashion jackpot time and again.
She shares her “amazing thrift finds” with her 31,000 followers on TikTok.
In this post, she zoned right in on the bags, and one red purse in particular.
“While I was going through the purses at the thrift store, I noticed a pattern that I’m familiar with,” she said.
As far as she was concerned, it bore all the hallmarks of a French fashion house.
“It is a Lady Dior for only $30,” she wrote.
“I inspected it closely and it had the zip hold pendant and inside it had the label,” she added.
“It is patent leather and the back of the zippers are marked Christian Dior.”
But viewers of her post were quick to correct her on two points.
“I own a Lady Dior and it’s a fake Lady Dior bag,” insisted one person.
“You can tell it’s a fake because a real Dior has no zipper,” said a second.
“Gold hardware is a recent style and should have no zipper,” added a third.
Regardless, she still liked her purchase.
“I really love the ox blood color. But for $23 I thought it was worth picking up,” she said.
“Whether or not I could have authenticated it on the spot, I still love it,” was her passing shot.
