CHLOE Brockett has left Towie fans shocked by announcing she’s quit the show after five years.
The 23-year-old today confirmed she will not be returning for the upcoming series of The Only Way Is Essex and insisted “it’s best for me at this point in my life”.
Undoubtedly one of the more controversial cast members, Chloe consistently delivered drama on the ITVBe show.
But were the signs there all along that she’d decided to walk away from the show that made her famous?
Last month The Sun revealed that Chloe – who recently confirmed she is back with on/off boyfriend Jack Fincham – had been banned from attending the cast trip to Bali.
A source said: “Chloe Brockett hasn’t been invited to join the rest of the cast when they film their group trip to Bali to kick off the new series in March.
“Bosses toyed with the idea, as they know she makes good telly, but ultimately they didn’t feel they could trust her not to misbehave and they couldn’t risk anything derailing things while they are filming in an expensive overseas location.
Chloe was previously suspended from Towie after an explosive ‘glass-throwing’ fight.
During an explosive row, Chloe is thought to have launched three glasses at her co-star Roman Hackett.
It wasn’t the first time she had been caught up in a row with a co-star which turned violent.
Last April, when not filming for Towie, Chloe threw an ice bucket at Ella Rae Wise but ended up hitting a woman who was left covered in blood.
Chloe hinted at bad news for fans recently when asked to confirm her future on the show during an Instagram Q&A.
On follower wrote: “Please say you are returning to TOWIE when it’s filmed in Essex ! We NEED YOU xx.”
Keeping tight-lipped, Chloe replied, “I see all of these questions.. and there is so so many, I’m not ignoring you all.
“I just can’t comment right now. Love u all.”
Earlier this month Chloe was announced as one of the famous faces taking part in the upcoming series of Celebrity Ex on the Beach, suggesting she’s been thinking about her future outside of Towie for a while.
The MTV reality show – which has already been filmed – will air next month – and Chloe will be rubbing shoulders with ex-fling James Lock and former best mate Yazmin Oukhello, who was with Lockie for two years before they split in 2021.
And another show she’s rumoured to appearing in is the Celebrity Big Brother reboot, which kicks off next week.
We revealed last month how Chloe was in talks for the ITV show – and, after quitting Towie, fans are convinced she’ll be entering the famous house.
Suspended
Last year Chloe was suspended from Towie for allegedly hurling three glasses at Roman Hackett during a bust-up while filming the show. An insider told us: “They were arguing then Chloe threw a drink on Roman. He swilled one back and then suddenly she threw three glass tumblers at Roman who was right in front of her.”
Night out drama
In April 2022 we told how Chloe had left an onlooking bleeding after launching a Grey Goose ice bucket at Ella Rae Wise during a night out at the W Hotel in London. An eyewitness told us: “We saw Chloe throw an ice bucket at Ella but it missed and hit another woman. She was seriously bleeding.”
A night with Jack Grealish
Chloe previously claimed that she enjoyed a night at Jack Grealish’sGreek bolthole after an all-day boozing session at a beach club. She told The Sun: “He didn’t use a chat-up line and we had a great time, talking, drinking and enjoying ourselves. Then later on, he asked me to come back to his villa and I agreed.”
James Lock fling
In 2021 we revealed that Chloe had a secret fling with Towie co-star James Lock – despite her friendship with his on/off girlfriend at the time, Yazmin Oukhellou. A Towie source said: “Lockie and Chloe had seen each other a few times and Yaz found out. Yaz is furious with Chloe and can’t wait to get her hands on her. Lockie says he regrets it and has tried to shift the blame on Chloe.”
Quitting Ex on the Beach
Chloe may have been revealed as one of the stars taking part in Celebrity Ex on the Beach – alongside Lockie and Yaz – but we told in September how she’s dramatically quit and flown home after days on set. A source at the time said: “There was friction between her and some of the girls and she opted to leave and has already flown back to the UK.”
