At 82 years old, Ann-Margret is reminding everyone that passions don’t die; you can be a baddie at any age.
On Feb 21, Ann-Margret told People at the Women’s Image Network’s 25th Women’s Image Awards that she is still an avid motorcyclist.
“I love speed. Not the drug,” the Bye Bye Birdie alum clarified, adding that in her 80s, she still rides her motorcycle as much as possible. “It’s lavender, and it’s got white daisies all over it. There’s flowers on the back fender and on the front fender.”
For those who don’t know, Ann-Margret has been riding motorcycles for decades, specifically starting in the 1960s (and there are plenty of photos to prove her love for the hobby)! In a previous interview with Vanity Fair in 2023, Ann-Margret revealed her love for motorcycles started when she was a kid. “My uncle, my mother’s brother, had a big motorcycle. And Valsjöbyn was 10 minutes away from Norway, so my uncle would take me on these great rides to Norway,” she said.
She added, “You look to the right, and it was the mountains. You look to the left, it was the fjords. And of course, coming to America, I have those memories, and that never went away, that thing of being on top of a motorcycle.”
The legendary actress and keen motorcyclist is reminding everyone to never give up the things you love, at any age. We’re so obsessed with this life philosophy, and this is one reason of many as to why Ann-Margret has inspired us for so many years!
