(Austin Business Journal) — Austinites will soon get their hands on Canada-based Tim Hortons’ coffee and doughnut holes, known as “Timbits,” as plans for the chain’s first metro store are underway.
Tim Hortons Inc. officials said in early 2023 that the chain would aggressively expand in the area, forecasting 40 to 50 locations. It appears the initial one will be at 16201 Ranch to Market Road 620 in Round Rock, according to a Feb. 21 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Jim Kolkhort and Richard Santowski were tapped as the franchisees in Williamson County, and they're expected to open 10 stores over the next five years, according to past Austin Business Journal reporting. The pair already operates 13 Burger King restaurants in Texas, Kolkhort previously said. Kolkhort didn't respond to a request for comment as of publication time.
