Cop’s comments to colleagues were so offensive he’s been sacked

A police officer has been sacked for making ‘offensive and derogatory’ comments to colleagues.

PC Radoslaw Mikulski, who worked for Greater Manchester Police, used racially aggravated language on two occasions, the force said.

The officer made the remarks in private meetings in September and October 2022, firstly in reference to an incident and then about a member of the public.

After the first incident, PC Mikulski was told the language was inappropriate but went on to make the second comment.

The police have not revealed what he said.

He appeared at a misconduct hearing at Greater Manchester Police headquarters on Monday.

Chief constable Stephen Watson, who led the hearing, said PC Mikulski’s behaviour amounted to gross misconduct and had breached the standards of ‘equality and diversity’, as well as ‘authority, respect and courtesy’.

PC Mikulski, who worked in the Trafford district of Manchester and had been on restricted duties since October 2022, admitted his behaviour amounted to gross misconduct and apologised.

In dismissing the officer, chief constable Watson said: ‘This type of language is highly offensive and falls below what the public rightly expects.

‘Racially aggravated language always constitutes an aggravating factor, and there is a risk of the trust of minority communities [in the police] being harmed.’

He ordered PC Mikulski’s name to be added to the College of Policing Barred List.

PC Mikulski’s remarks had been reported to Greater Manchester Police’s professional standards directorate, which then carried out an internal investigation that lead to disciplinary proceedings.

Detective chief superintendent Mike Allen, of Greater Manchester Police’s professional standards directorate, said: ‘The language used by the officer was unacceptable in any walk of life, clearly not compatible with being a police officer and this is why he finds himself dismissed from Greater Manchester Police.’

Last month, another Greater Manchester Police officer quit before she could be sacked after being convicted of going on a violent rampage and damaging a car.

Kia Pulford Stone was charged after two incidents in Wigan, Greater Manchester, on March 14 and 16 last year.

Still a serving officer, the second incident involved Pulford Stone damaging a Vauxhall Adam car belonging to the same woman she’d attacked previously.
