ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- No luck swiping right looking for love? What if you could swipe right on your dream job? That's the vision of UAlbany student, and Capital Region native, Sam Hogan, who is changing the way you find your next opportunity.
“It is a dating app for jobs," Hogan said. "We wanted to keep it simple for people, what we’re doing right now is we’re allowing candidates and employers to match together similarly like you would on a dating app.”
Hirebird uses artificial intelligence, designed by students at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, to match you with companies based on your resume and profile. Hogan said he wanted to find a way to help people navigate challenges in the job market.
“What we’re able to do is really analyze someone’s profile and give them the ability to simply look and have a digestible view of, hey, this person has an 86% compatibility rate to my position out there," Hogan said.
“We’re really trying to use this next level technology to level up everybody’s game in the area," Nick Avenia, Sales Manager, said. "To not only kind of help progress us further, but to really just give us some opportunities to enjoy life and enjoy our day to day work more.”
It's not just for job seekers, it also works to make things easier for companies wanting qualified candidates and the idea is already catching the attention of Capital Region businesses.
“Once we really start to break down what we offer to the companies about saving financially, the actual time it’s going to take for you to find quality candidates, they’re buying in right away," Avenia said.
The website will launch this spring. More about Hirebird can be found on their website.
